My Shining New Angel - Chessie

September 20, 1984 to August 4, 1998

Listen Closely.....Shhhh...... there! did you hear that? just the softest rustle.....a little breeze just barely moving the leaves on that tree over there? No.....close....but somehow not...... The sound, more felt than heard when you walk barefoot thru soft grass in summer? No.....This was even more wonderful than those yet, sad too.........as it will never be heard again this way... The sound of a shining new angel taking flight...... Until we meet again my precious shining new angel......All My Love, Mommy

One of my precious Cats - Ticker - July 12, 1982 - February 10, 2001. There will never be another kitty like Ticker. She was my heart, my soul, my love and my endearing friend. I miss you my sweet kitty.

  • Maine Coon Look-a-like
  • She was 18 years and 7 months old when she went to the Rainbow Bridge.
  • She was Queen of our home!
Things she did best!
  1. Slept
  2. Gave me EYE BLINKS
  3. Ate
  4. Talked, Purred & Loved me unconditionally.

This is my wonderful dog Otis. He is a purebred Japanese Chin. I am his sixth and final owner. He has been bounced around all of his life, but I was lucky enough to adopt him 9 years ago. He is such a joy and lives to chase the squirrels and chipmunks. Running a close second is eating anything I put into my mouth. Otis will always have a home here with me.

About Me!

I am a HEART Transplant for almost thirteen years. I have a link to a great site about heart transplants and related issues.

As a Heart Transplant, a good Low Fat/Low Salt diet is a must. Try this link for some delicious, healthy recipes!

    HIGHVIEW PET CAMP

I am an avid animal welfare worker and lover of all 4-legged and winged creatures. Presently I am owned by 1 dog and 5 cats. I own and operate HIGHVIEW PET CAMP, an in-home boarding facility for dogs and cats. We are located on the south shore of Lake Superior between Port Wing and Herbster, Wisconsin. Nursing, feeding and rehabilitating wild critters is also my thing. I have linked to one of the most successful "no-kill" animal shelters in the Nation - The North Shore Animal League. Check it out! Click the kitty to visit BEST FRIENDS.

Finally, I am a big Star Trek fan (since the original series) and have linked to "where no one has gone before".

  • This picture will give you a glimpse of the breathtaking Winter Wonderland in which I, my husband, cats and dogs live. It is our gorgeous backyard and was taken on Thanksgiving Day. We have an abundance of wild critters including deer, wolves, coyotes, fox, bobcats, etc. This scene shows our wooded backyard overlooking the shores of Lake Superior.

  • Here is a White-Tailed doe in our yard looking for a snack last summer.

  • And, here we are enjoying our beautiful outdoor paradise. By the way, we spent our honeymoon in Paradise! No kidding....Paradise, Michigan! :) Must be why we have been married almost 40 years. We are working on the next 40 years.

  • Here is the light of our life.......our beautiful, beautiful daughter, Janine. She was and is what makes our lives worthwhile. You couldn't ask for a more wonderful child. She is definitely one-of-a-kind. Beautiful inside and outside. Oh yes, that other good-looking woman is me, her mother (with the help of make-up of course). :)

  • I took this great picture in my backyard! :)
