Pastor Radtke grew up in Eagle River, WI the son of a WELS minister. He attended Christ Lutheran Elementary School in Eagle River, Martin Luther Academy of New Ulm, MN for high school and Northwestern College of Watertown, WI. He graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He then attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary of Mequon, WI. As part of his formal training, Pastor Radtke spent 1980 in Kenai, AK helping a small group of Christians start a WELS mission congregation. Returning to Mequon, he completed his seminary training in 1982 earning a Masters of Divinity Degree.

Pastor Radtke's first calling was to Northwestern Prepratory School of Watertown, WI. There, he taught 10th grade English and served as a Tutor in the dormitory. Following this, the Western Wisconsin District Mission Board Called him to serve as Exploratory Missionary to the Hayward Area. Pastor Radtke was installed on the first Sunday of August, 1983.

Pastor Radtke met his wife, Sandra, while in Hayward and they were wed on December 30th, 1984. The Lord has blessed their marriage with three children.

Pastor and Sandra have active interests in dogs, cats and horses. They enjoy cross country skiing, skating, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and horse back riding.

Pastor Radtke has served as the Western Wisconsin District Commission on Evangelism chairman, the Joint Conference chairman for the Chippewa River/Wisconsin River Valley conferences and has been called upon to write Catechism Exercises and lessons for the Wisconsin Synod's "Christ Light" religion curriculum. From June 1998 to June 2004, Pastor Radtke served as a member of the Western Wisconsin District Mission Board.
